What is IELTS?

The English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a test for English language proficiency. Moreover, this exam is used to assess the English language skills for candidates seeking to work or study in any English-speaking environment.

IELTS is an internationally recognized exam as it is recognized by many academic institutions, government agencies and employers around the world. IELTS is accepted by many American, Canadian, South African, Australian, British and New Zealand universities and colleges. IELTS can also be used as a proof for ones' English Language ability for the purpose of immigration.

Exam Content:

The IELTS exam consists of 4 parts: reading, writing, listening and speaking. It includes a several writing styles and reading passages as well as different accents including the British and American accents.

The IELTS Scores:

You will receive a score for each section of the test. The score is for 1-9. The scores from all of the sections will be combined to produce the overall band score. Test report forms are received by candidates about 13 days after they have done the test.

IELTS at Confident Steps:

TOEFL test consist of 4 sections

Listening Comprehension: Assesses the ability to understand spoken English (34–51 questions / 60–80 minutes)

Writing : Writing an essay in response to reading and listening task. Also, candidates are required to support an opinion in writing. (2 task / 50 minutes)

Reading Comprehension: Reading 3 or 4 passages from academic texts and answering related questions.(36–56 questions / 60–80 minutes)

Speaking: Expressing an opinion on a familiar topic; speaking based on reading and listening tasks. (6 task/ 20 minutes)

The length of the English Certificate program is flexible; it takes approximately 6 weeks to advance to the next level and there are 12 levels. After registering for this program, students will take a placement test to determine their entry level. Most students study 12, 24, 36, or 48 weeks and then go on to take an English exam or enter a college or university.
